Selected Question: I have started a prototype Cell, How long do I have with these leaders before I move to the next level? |
Answer: Answered by Little Falls Christian Centre
As long as is takes for them to really catch the vision and ideas etc. There is no time limit. Only you will really know if they are ready. Here are a couple of tips that help you know if they are ready to carry on to the next stage.
- They are actively involved in reaching out to unsaved contacts/friends without your prodding them to do so. Should they be reaching out, since they are already proven leaders? Yes, definitely, unless they have caught the concept of friendship evangelism they will not model this to the next generation. How do you build this value in them? You have to start. I started by visiting night clubs for the first time in 13 years, I had no unsaved friends. I began to ask God how I could reach these people. It started by me approaching total strangers. When the Prototype Cell saw me inviting unsaved people to the Cell or another Cell on a different evening they started doing the same. Nothing generates excitement than reaching someone for Christ.
- They have each had the opportunity to lead the various aspects of a Cell Meeting.
- When they have each completed the training/equipping process that you are going to use to train future Cell Leaders. It does not matter how brilliant they are they need to go through the same training that others are going to go through.
- They have moved from platonic relationships with the rest of the members of the Cell into deep meaningful accountable relationships with each other.
- The meetings are life changing, spirit filled and where transparent communication is taking place.
- They are excited about starting Cells.
- They have developed goals and strategy for the next stage of transitioning.
- They have 3-4 confirmed contacts that they can add to a Home Cell besides the existing leadership base that you are going to draw into Home Cells. The best Cell Leaders we have found are the people that we have brought in trained from scratch.
