Selected Question: Do you have separate Cells for those in your Worship team? |
Answer: Answered by Little Falls Christian Centre
The idea for separate Cells for those involved in a worship team comes from Singapore and Faith Community Baptist Church. They had huge success operating in that manner. Personally, we dont operate separate Cells. Why? Our rationale is that we are all about equipping people to do the work of the ministry. We recognise the gifting on worshippers but we think that it is in their best interests to live out their gifting by using it in the rest of the body. By keeping them separate we are robbing the rest of the Cells of their ministry. They can gain far more experience and growth by being involved with the other Cells. We also see worship as extremely important but as a supportive ministry. Many of our best home cell leaders have been involved in the worship team. Worship is only part of their make up, they are also great leaders and shepherds. By keeping them separate we are again stifling their personal growth. We convince these leaders that it is in their best interests in terms of personal growth to be involved in Home Cells. But we always leave the decision to them. No pressure. Separate Cells operate on the principle of homogenous grouping. The worship Cells will only grow to a certain point, the people will become frustrated because they are focussed inward, and we see that as been unhealthy.
The main reason why separate Cells are advantageous, is mainly due to time constraints. Usually worshippers are already giving up time to practice together. It is advantageous to extend this time to include a Cell Meeting rather than demand additional time from them.
